4-times Olympic sailor adding 5th being a coach at Rio Olympics 2016 Álvaro Marinho is a true professional with a background in sailing for almost 35 years. In 470 class he won several top positions in the Worlds and was a European Champion twice, also holding a couple of Bronze medals in Match Racing. Level I sports coach recognized by the Portuguese Sailing Federation Álvaro is a friendly guy taking care of such cases as using less plastic at sea. SailCascais could not dream of a better pro to run our sailing clinics & campuses!
Since the early age of 11 Vasco was a Cascais-based sailor and competed at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta in the Laser class. Later his career priorities switched to business. He successfully worked for Banco Espirito Santo in Lisbon, then Merrill Lynch & Goldman Sachs in London and Madrid while not giving up on sailing. After 18 years he left banking to start some angel investing. New page in life brought him back to native Portugal to give boost to Cascais’ sailing scene. SailCascais is a project of many years now coming to reality.
Tiago has extensive experience in operational boat management having run major marinas in Troia Resort and Oeiras in Lisbon for about 10 years. He participated in several projects of Kitesurf Odyssey helping Francisco Lufinha gain his world record crossing the Atlantic on a kite from Azores to Lisbon. With the certificates he holds, such as RYA Offshore YachtMaster and having taken the ISAF Survival Course, you are in safe hands with Tiago! At SailCascais he’s responsible for our shiny boats, he is the man who keeps the machines flying.

Gonçalo started sailing at the age of 9 first representing Portugal in Optimist class. Later he achieved several top 10 positions in Laser Radial class competing at World Championships. With degree in Economics he worked for Banif Investment Banking and Santander Asset Management as analyst and portfolio manager. After years in the office he returned to his long standing passion for sailing and now he helps more people to discover it.
Experienced PR & Marketing professional Anna first got a taste of sailing back in 2010 while working for large corporations. It became an inseparable part of her life that turned into a true passion right away. That made her move from Russia to Portugal. Having recently graduated from Master in Marketing from ISCTE Business School in Lisbon she enjoys applying her skills to promote SailCascais and participating in local regattas.
